What is Marvee?
Marvee is a voice-initiated care companion and concierge application integrated with the Alexa Voice service and any Alexa-enabled device, like the Amazon Echo, Dot or Tap. Marvee is an Alexa Skill listed in the Alexa App, Skills catalog

What is an Amazon Echo?
The Echo is a hands-free wireless speaker your control with your voice. Echo connects to the Alexa Voice Service to play music, provide information, news, weather, etc

Who is Alexa?
Alexa is the voice service that powers the Amazon Echo, provides capabilities, or Skill, that enable customers to interact with devices in a more intuitive way using voice.

Who uses Marvee?
Marvee can be used by anyone, but is purpose-built and designed as a voice-initiated concierge solution to help those with limited vision, mobility or aging challenges.

Does Marvee work with other devices than the Echo?
Marvee is integrated with Alexa-enabled devices today, such as the Echo, the Echo Dot and the Amazon Tap. There are also several smart devices that are embedding Alexa into their hardware. Additionally, we will be interfacing with Google Home, Apple’s Siri and other voice platform providers in the future.

Can we submit ideas for future features or services?
We have many future services on our product roadmap and we welcome ideas for other services that will help our families and loved ones communicate and manage the aging journey.

Getting started

Getting Started with Marvee
You may discover Marvee via our website or through the Amazon Alexa app:

  • Discovering Marvee via visit to Askmarvee.com
    1. You can sign up for an account on the Marvee website at www.askmarvee.com.
    2. Once you’ve signed in, configure your services, set up your contacts, you’re almost ready to go!
    3. Open your Alexa App and find Marvee in the Alexa Skills catalog. Open the Marvee Skill, Click “Enable”
    4. Click “Link Your Account”, Log into your Marvee account
    5. You’re all set, the Skill is enabled!  Your account is linked. Start asking Marvee!
  • Discovering the Marvee Skill within the Alexa App
    1. Open the Alexa App, Go to Skills – type Marvee into search, locating the Marvee Skill
    2. Open the Marvee Skill, Click “Enable”
    3. then click “Link your Account”
    4. Log in if you have an existing Marvee account or Sign up for an account
    5. Visit the Marvee website at www.askmarvee.com, sign in to your account and begin to configure your services, add contacts and view your account profile. Then start using Marvee!

Alexa is not recognizing a contact name.

  • There could be a few reasons for this. Alexa must understand the name correctly for us to match the name to the appropriate service.  Please check your history in the Alexa app to first see if Alexa is recognizing your desired contact name.
  • We have implemented a few clarification messages for better understanding when the name is either not recognized or does not match a contact attached to the service you are attempting to voice.
  • The first name in the Contact is a unique identifier, as defined by Amazon. We have included an algorithm for matching similar names but please be sure to use a unique first name when adding contact. (ie. John, Johnny, etc)
Morning Beacon

What is Morning Beacon?
Morning Beacon is a way for those who may need to send a daily shout out to family or caregivers. “All is OK and am ready for the day”

Get started with Morning Beacon by adding contacts. Add the contacts who you’d like to receive the “I’m OK” message from your loved one using the Echo, Alexa and Marvee. Enter their information, choose how you would like them to receive the notification and you’re all set!

How does the Alexa User use Morning Beacon? What do they say?

  • “Alexa, tell Marvee to send “I’m OK” or
  • “Alexa, tell Marvee to send morning beacon” or
  • “Alexa, tell Marvee I’m OK”
Call Me

What is Call Me?
Dialing the phone can be a challenge for many limited by vision, mobility or typical aging challenge. Often loved ones call to check in during the day. Call Me allows the user to send a message, by using their voice, and have your loved one give you a call. The contact is be notified by text, email or both.

Get started with Call Me by adding contacts. Add the contacts for those the Alexa-Marvee User would like to notify to give them a call. Enter their information, choose how you would like them to receive the notification and you’re all set!

How does the Marvee/Alexa User use Call Me? What do they say?

  • “Alexa, ask Marvee to have “Bob” call me
    • Use the first name of your contact you have added to the Call Me service within the Marvee application.
      • remember that first names need to be unique
Family News

What is Family News?
Marvee lets folks who may feel disconnected, isolated or a bit lonely to stay in tune with the latest family buzz! Family members submit updates on life and they’re delivered back to the Marvee User upon their request! Soon the Marvee user is engaged, connected and happy!

Invite family and friends to the Alexa-Marvee Users Family News group. They’ll receive an invitation to set up a password to login in and begin to send updates!

How does the Alexa User use Family News? What do they say?

  • “Alexa, ask Marvee for family news
How to Add or Edit a Contact

You can add a contact two ways, through the specific service (ie: Morning Beacon, Call Me, etc) or via the My Contacts page on your dashboard.

Account Info

Update Account information
– Navigate to My Account
From here, you can update your name, email address, phone number, etc

I’m not receiving emails from Marvee

  • If you’re not receiving emails from Marvee, please check your email account’s “Spam” or “Junk” folders to ensure the message was not filtered.
  • Also verify that your email address is listed correctly on your account by visiting the Settings tab in the main menu of the app.
  • If you’re still not receiving messages from us, please confirm your email address and we’ll be happy to assist.

I’d like to delete my account

  • If you’re experiencing an account, payment, or device issue, please let us know below so we can help resolve it for you. Once an account is deleted, we are unable to look into issues or make adjustments.
  • If you’d like to proceed with deleting your Marvee account, we’ll take care of that for you.
